The Region of Peel (herein referred to as the “Agency”) is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer network, pumping stations, and wastewater treatment plants within the Regional Municipality of Peel boundaries.Wastewater is generally conveyed by gravity from north to south through the collection system to the wastewater treatment facilities at Lake Ontario.The lake-based wastewater system services Mississauga, Brampton and parts of Caledon. The Peel wastewater system comprises of two principal trunk systems: the West trunk system that conveys flows along and near the Credit Valley to the Clarkson Wastewater Treatment Plant; and the East trunk system that conveys flows along and near the Etobicoke Creek Valley to the G. E. Booth Wastewater Treatment Plant. In Construction of a new 2,400 mm diameter Sanitary Trunk Sewer, approximately 11 km in length, that will connect the existing East Trunk Sewer near the intersection of Derry Road and Bramalea Road, to the West Trunk Sewer near the intersection of Argentia Road and Creditview Road. The second project consists of 11 trenchless crossings of Highway 401 between Winston Churchill Boulevard and Creditview Road for the relocation of the Agency’s infrastructure.
