Description: 

This Contract is for the provision of all labour, materials and equipment necessary for the reconstruction of the Gore Road, from 100m North of Finnerty Sideroad to Coolihans Side Road, Town of Caledon, Project 12-4085, and is anticipated to involve full reconstruction of The Gore Road from approximately 50m north of Finnerty Side Rd, to approximately 20m north of Coolihans Side Rd, two lane full reconstruction.

The following General Contractors have been prequalified for this project in accordance with prequalification Document 2025-240PQ:

  • Dufferin Construction Company, A division of CRH Canada Group Inc.
  • Graham Bros. Construction Limited
  • Four Seasons Site Development Ltd.
  • KAPP Infrastructure Inc.
  • Fermar Paving Limited
  • Pave-Al Limited
  • Rafat General Contractor Inc.

The work to be done includes but is not limited to:

  • Site mobilization, including site safety and security;
  • Supply, installation, maintenance and removal of all traffic control components (signs, barricades, fences, barriers, delineators, flagmen) and road modifications to accommodate safe detouring of vehicular and pedestrian traffic around the construction site;
  • Supply, installation, maintenance and removal of measures necessary to protect the public, site personnel, vehicles, equipment, adjacent property and the environment from damage and / or injury that could result from the work of this Contract;
  • Earth stripping / grading and disposal off site all excavated material that is surplus and / or not suitable for reuse. Per O.Reg 406/19;
  • Construction of drainage swales, culvert replacement (2 HDPE and 2 SRPE culverts including increased diameter to between 600 mm to 1500 mm with baffles), new 3000 mm x 1800 mm concrete eco-passage culvert, 
  • Coordination with utilities for their staged relocations and or protection during various construction stages, including facilitating time and space separation from the Contract work area as needed;
  • Construction of granular road base, new asphalt pavement (including all adjustments of utilities to finished grade), curbs, splash pads, paved shoulders, street lighting, hand wells and poles, retaining walls, culvert head walls, signing and pavement markings, culverts, erosion and sediment control measures and related ancillary works.
  • Removal and disposal of existing culvert structures
  • Installation of temporary shoring systems;
  • Construction of drainage swales, cross culverts, driveway culverts.
  • Construction of Gravix Retaining Walls;
  • Installation of streetlighting, including concrete encased duct bank.
  • Adherence to property specific limitations, constraints and / or special conditions as specifically outlined in the tender; Landscaping, restoration, and clean up.
  • All other work necessary items and adjustments to complete the construction in accordance with details set out in the Contract Documents, as shown on the Contract Drawings, and as directed by the Engineer.  The intent of the Tender Documents is to provide complete work including providing all minor ancillary items necessary to properly complete the work.
  • Coordination with utilities for their staged relocations and or protection during various construction stages, including facilitating time and space separation from the Contract work area as needed;
  • Working in environmentally sensitive areas involving in-water works and strict timing windows while minimizing disturbance to the natural environment and restoring disturbed working areas to original condition.
