The Agency intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the delivery of waste reduction workshops for students attending elementary and secondary schools within the Regional Municipality of Peel. There are approximately 240,000 students at 404 publicly-funded schools within the Regional Municipality of Peel in addition to a number of private education institutions. The Agency is seeking interested and qualified organizations to deliver waste reduction workshops which are aligned to the Agency’s goals and objectives to help meet a 75% waste diversion rate by 2034, and move towards a circular economy with zero waste from residential sources. Areas of focus for the waste reduction workshops include: • 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) • Community Recycling Centres and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) • Product Life Cycles • Processing divertible materials (blue bin materials and composting) • Composting (including vermicomposting, backyard composting, and municipal composting) • Energy recovery • Landfill Subject to the results of this Request For Expression of Interest process, the Agency anticipates that it will issue an RFP document for these services in early 2019. |
