| Description: |
The Region of Peel is responsible for planning, design, constructing, operating and maintaining the water systems within its municipal boundaries. The Region of Peel owns and operates wells in six communities in Caledon: Alton, Palgrave, Caledon East, Caledon Village, Cheltenham Village, and Inglewood. The groundwater well-based systems in these communities consist of multiple wells and treatment plants from where potable water is distributed through watermains to households or stored in reservoirs for later use. The Region of Peel intends to retain a Professional Engineering Consultant to complete a technical review to explore and evaluate alternatives to increase the capacity of the existing Palgrave 4 municipal supply well to meet increasing water demands in Palgrave and provide additional capacity for Caledon East. Work should be carried out to a level of detail to fulfill the requirements of “Schedule B” Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process.
